Congratulations, Dorothy Woodard

2017 Benefactor Society Honoree

Ask anyone in the Iredell-Statesville School District  who has worked withDorothy in her capacity as a mentor,  as part of the System-Wide Assistance Team, as an interim assistant principal and  principal….no one possesses a stronger work ethic nor a greater passion for public education than Dorothy Woodard.  As a graduate of Unity High School in Statesville, Dorothy pursued her higher education dreams at Livingstone College, Temple University and  UNC Charlotte. She spent decades teaching students and served as both an assistant principal and principal during her career as an educator.Dorothy is just as passionate about volunteering to make our community a better place.  She has worked with many organizations such as the United Way, Relay for Life, Komen Race for the Cure,Crosby Scholars, NAACP, Divas Fighting Like Girls (breast cancer support) and church.  Dorothy truly embodies the Benefactor Award criteria of a life-long legacy of service to our community.
